This page documents every time my girlfriend teaches me something she “thought you should already know”

Autumnal is a word

When I heard my girlfriend say this for the first time, I thought it sounded too funny to be a real word. She got mad at me for asking Siri to define it, but we laugh about it now.

Bathtubs and showers have floors under them

I’m don’t know if this is a thought I had about rented places only, or living spaces in general. In my head, there was a hole for the tub or shower area.

I’ve come to learn that there is in fact bathroom flooring under there to support the weight of the tub.

“coo coo ka choo” is from a Beatles song

I don’t remember how it started, but my girlfriend was singing “coo coo ka choo” while we were making dinner one night. And in my head I was like “wow, I didn’t know she knew that Coheed and Cambria song”. Maybe like a minute or two later, she goes, “You know what that’s from right?”.

I confidently reply, “Yeah that Coheed song”. To which I got the fastest “No Andy” I think I’ve ever gotten.

So while I was thinking of background vocals in “The Camper Velourium I: Faint of Hearts”1, she was thinking of “I am the Walrus”
